10 Best Slasher Movies Since 2010
7. The Strangers: Prey At Night
If this list ventured back just a few more years, Bryan Bertino's The Strangers would undoubtedly rank high here. Having been released in 2008, that movie just about misses the cut here. Still, that doesn't stop The Strangers: Prey at Night from being a worthy inclusion to this piece.
Truth be told, The Strangers itself veers more towards the home invasion sub-genre of horror than outright slasher, but its 2018 follow-up embraces the glorious and lavish neon of classic '80s slasher cheese in all the right ways.
Branching out from just being set in a lonely, isolated cabin locale, Prey at Night ventures to a trailer park and beyond as Man in the Mask, Pin-Up Girl, and Dollface stalk an unsuspecting family unit.
Pulling a whole host of inspiration from numerous John Carpenter movies, The Strangers: Prey at Night serves up an equally enjoyable, if not tonally different, movie to that first Strangers picture.
With some creative kills, legitimate dread, a few choice jump scares, and a fist-pumping finale, this sequel ticks a whole lot of the right boxes for slasher fans.
