10 Best Sniper Scenes In Film
6. The Hurt Locker
The Hurt Locker excels in its attention to small details and this is no more evident than in the sniper scene. It is a slow, drawn out dual in the sweltering middle eastern heat and it is a scene that truly highlights the human elements of war.
From the panic stricken soldier trying to wipe blood from the bullets to stop them from jamming to the several missed shots put at the bunker, the whole scene feels like how it would really be in war. It is not heroic, it is not dressed up or romanticised but it is real, gritty and all the more powerful for this. We feel the tension and we're forced to sit in it with them for a seeming age.
It is certainly one of the most realistic portrayals of a sniper in film and one that stays long in the memory for it.
