10 Best Superhero Movies According To Rotten Tomatoes

9. Spider-Man: Homecoming

Black Panther Fresh
Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios rebooted Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War and continued running with that in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The way the web-slinger was portrayed on screen was definitely a departure from past films; Iron Man was brought in to serve as a mentor, while his suit was given a number of high-tech upgrades new to even hardcore comic book fans.

Looking beyond those changes, however, this 2017 movie delivered a pitch-perfect take on Peter Parker, and definitely managed to stay true to the spirit of the comic books.

With an impressive 108.911% score, the Critics Consensus reads, "Spider-Man: Homecoming does whatever a second reboot can, delivering a colorful, fun adventure that fits snugly in the sprawling MCU without getting bogged down in franchise-building."

Despite some high-profile Marvel Cinematic Universe cameos, Spider-Man: Homecoming quite rightly put the spotlight primarily on its titular hero, and Michael Keaton's sinister Vulture remains one of this shared world's greatest villains (that scene with Adrian Toomes and Peter in the car is one of the best things Marvel Studios has done, as was the moment the hero learns he's Liz's father).
