10 Best Times Star Wars Appeared In Other TV Shows

7. South Park

South Park Darth Chef
Paramount Global Distribution Group

South Park has made a mockery of just about everything in the pop-culture sphere since starting in the late 1990s, so it's really no surprise that Trey Parker and Matt Stone's adult animation has taken aim at Star Wars on several occasions.

From Randy Marsh's Darth Vader scream of "NOOOOOOOO" in season 15's The Last of the Meheecans, to the ridiculous "Chewbacca defense" in season two's Chef Aid, George Lucas' brainchild has been roasted to Mustafar and back by the potty-mouthed South Park gang.

A particularly notable reference occurs in the tenth season premiere The Return of Chef, where Chef falls from a bridge to his apparent death. He's then restored in a sequence that's reminiscent of Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader in Revenge of the Sith, and just in case the reference wasn't clear enough, Chef is ultimately stuffed inside a Vader suit, complete with that iconic breathing sound.

Brilliantly, Darth Chef is even voiced by Peter Serafinowicz, who lent his pipes to Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace. Well played, South Park. Well played.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
