1. Fast & Furious 6
If I was casting my vote for trailer of the year, there would only ever be one winner; Fast and Furious 6. This has nothing to do with the franchises wonderful trait of showing you all the best bits of the film in these two-minute teasers, my Vin Diesel-sized man-crush on The Rock, or the recent and utterly tragic death of one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, Paul Walker. No, the reason I would have it at number one is simply because I defy any film fan to watch it without getting as excited as a Fanta-filled five-year-old on Christmas Eve. Why It Works: It does exactly what it says on the tin. What you expect from a Fast & Furious film is exactly what you get from the trailer. Cars, action and mayhem, the Fast 6 preview is low on plot and high on octane-fueled set pieces, delivered at a hundred miles an hour from the window of a speeding Corvette. Whether its police cars flipping onto their roofs in traffic-packed London or a tank destroying a freeway outside a sun-drenched city, this trailer and the film for that matter, gives fans of the genre and franchise exactly what they want again and again. Never slowing down to catch its breath or to take stock of the destruction left in its wake, the trailer hurtles forward preparing itself for the next giant leap into the implausible, the ridiculous and the sublime. So that's what I think? What do you think? Have I missed any out? Feel free to comment!
