10 Best Vampire Movies Of The 2000s

8. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (2000)

Blade 2
Madhouse

Based on the anime novel Demon Deathcase - the third novel in Hideyuki Kikuchi's Vampire Hunter D series - Bloodlust is an anime horror which takes place in the distant future, wherein vampires rule in the dead of night but hunters have begun to threaten their future.

Surreal and beautifully animated, Bloodlust's power comes from its striking visuals and staggering musical score.

But amongst its music, its animation, and its stylish, gory violence, Bloodlust also carries with it a brilliant story, one which ends up watching like a thriller and is constantly riveting and always surprising.

It's dark and weird, scary and daring, and features werewolves as well as vampires and a story which is begging for a sequel or even a movie franchise. It might not fit everyone's first thoughts about vampire movies, and if that's the case, then that's even better, because it's guaranteed to surprise you in all the right ways if you haven't seen it.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
