This writer claimed at the beginning of this article that all MCU villains eventually lose. That’s not always the case in the first instance however, as Thanos was able to collect all six Infinity Stones, destroy half of all living creatures, and indeed sit back and watch the sunrise.

23 days later, the remaining Avengers, with the help of Nebula and Rocket, mounted an attack on the Garden. There, a broken Thanos was a shell of his former self after again using the Infinity Stones to destroy the Infinity Stones.

As far as Thor was concerned, there was no reason to keep the Mad Titan around anymore. He had been the first being to truly defeat the God of Thunder, and inside his feeling were a dangerous cocktail of anger and grief. Not least because he could have stopped it.

The Mad Titan made a good point when he told Thor he should have gone for the head, but he wasn’t about to make the same mistake twice. Out of nowhere, Thor struck and took the Mad Titan’s head clean off his big, purple shoulders, ending the life of the greatest MCU villain of all time. Well, that version of him at least…
