10 Best War Movie Scenes Of All Time

2. Black Hawk Down - The Air Assault

While most war movies tend to focus on large-scale battles or the war as a whole, Black Hawk Down instead focuses on a single mission in the U.S. Military's 1993 raid in Mogadishu. The entire movie is something of a battle. Still, if you had to watch a single scene that was as close to reality as possible, it would be the initial insertion into the city.

The Air Assault team made their way into the city, but people on the outskirts warned the warlords waiting inside. As the helicopters begin inserting their passengers into key locations in the city, that's when things get dicey.

The relatively small group of U.S. Soldiers are surrounded by and engaged by a massive paramilitary force that boxes them inside the city via barricades and fire. As soon as the Troops insert, they encounter the enemy, and it's chaotic as the enemy fire comes in from all sides.

Explosions wreak havoc while bullets fly throughout the city, and once the first bird goes down, things go from bad to FUBAR in a matter of seconds. Everything about this battle is chaotic, and while the U.S. Military managed to get in, it would be much harder for them to pull out.
