10 Best 'Worst' Movies Of 2017 (So Far)

9. Inferno

XXX Return Of Xander Cage Vin Diesel
Columbia Pictures

Okay, so Inferno reached cinemas in October 2016, but nobody went to see it so its recent release on DVD means it qualifies as a 2017 movie. Does that sound like a cheat to you? Good. You ain’t seen nothing yet.

Tom Hanks returns as Robert Langdon in this third adaptation of a Dan Brown novel, but even by the standards of the man who gave us The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, this one’s so hokey and contrived you’ll be scoffing every five minutes for two hours.

Once again, Hanks is on the run from cops and assassins in a scenic locale and once again he has to decipher clues that will help him save the world. This time, however, Hanks’ character wakes up with temporary amnesia that – get this – turns out to have been induced with drugs by a sinister organization. In other words, they faked his amnesia and then maintained the charade for… oh, some reason.

Has Brown read Philip K Dick recently?
