10 Better Movies That Were Secretly Hidden In Films
7. Scrat's Adventures - Any Ice Age Movie
It's truly fascinating that, despite having barely 10 minutes of screen time throughout the five Ice Age movies, Scrat is surely the series' most popular and iconic character.
Scrat is a sabre-toothed squirrel who is absolutely obsessed with storing his precious acorn for the winter, a quest which becomes increasingly, hilariously outlandish with each passing installment, whereby he ends up responsible for the separation of the continents among other things.
The Scrat scenes are typically the most entertaining part of each film, effectively serving as short films pigeonholed in the middle of the main story.
And because Scrat can't speak, there's a universal charm to these vignettes, not unlike classic silent films.
The producers clearly appreciated Scrat's popularity as he starred in a number of separate short films, but honestly, why not give him his own movie?
You can certainly argue that 100 minutes of Scrat might be too much of a good thing, but a more modest 70-minute animation, perhaps direct to streaming, chronicling Scrat's continued adventures? Sure.
It'd require a creative commitment to physical comedy to pull off a feature-length film with a non-verbal Scrat, but it has the easy potential to be the best of the relatively pedestrian Ice Age franchise.
