7. Pirates Of The Carribean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
It’s hard to remember a time when Johnny Depp’s wacky Keith Richards impersonation was fresh since it's been thoroughly trampled into dust with the various sequels. Somehow the last movie – On Stranger Tides – still made lots of dough, so Depp has been dusted off for another go as Captain Jack; hooray.
Dead Men Tell No Tales took awhile to come together since no self-respecting director wanted to do it, and Disney questioned Depp’s bankability after a row of bombs. Now those minor issues have been sorted, the story will find Jack being pursued by a vengeful ghost played by Javier Bardem. Geoffrey Rush and Orlando Bloom are also returning, and apparently, Paul McCartney will have a cameo too.
It feels like audiences have grown sick of both Jack and Depp at this stage, so don’t be surprised if Dead Men Tell No Tales is Jack’s final outing before a reboot sometime in 2023.
