10 Big Actors Who Are Skipping Movies In 2018

7. Brad Pitt

Next Movie: Ad Astra (2019)

Brad Pitt's troubled relationship with Angelina Jolie has cast a huge shadow over every movie he's been in since the super-couple first announced their divorce in late 2016, and this is disappointing, considering that the actor's recent work has been (mostly) great.

He was fantastic in Allied opposite an equally-strong Marion Cotillard, he stole The Big Short whenever he appeared onscreen, and Netflix's War Machine - though divisive - saw Pitt wade into new territory, the satirical drama allowing him to turn in a bubbly, self-aware performance that we don't often get to see from him.

And while it's true that the Brad Pitt of the 2010s isn't in the same league as the Brad Pitt from the '90s and early-to-mid '00s, the actor is still delivering a steady stream of interesting performances, and that's all we could ask for.

And even at 54, Pitt isn't slowing down - aside from the upcoming World War Z sequel, he has sci-fi adventure Ad Astra slated for release within the next few years.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
