10 Big Horror Movie Reveals You Can Spot Early (If You Really Look)

7. Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning - It Was Roy All Along

Urban Legend
Paramount Pictures

Friday the 13th Part V is very much a Scooby-Doo-infused entry in the beloved horror franchise.

It may often get lambasted for is overly-sexed moments (even by F13 standards!) and some ludicrously outrageous killers (again, even by F13 standards!), but A New Beginning has a fun 'whodunit?' element running through it.

With Tommy Jarvis - last seen butchering Jason Voorhees to death at the close of The Final Chapter - having murderous visions, he's a prime suspect when dead bodies start turning up left, right and centre. Similarly, the opening act brutal murder of chocolate enthusiast Joey by Vic throws up the possibility of the otherwise-absent Vic as the person behind these plentiful corpses.

Throw in a creepy voyeur straggler, a few crazed redneck neighbours, a lead female named 'Pam' (the same name as Jason's mother), and the fifth Friday picture had several candidates to be its killer - and that's not even taking into account the possibility of Jason being back from the dead once again.

The reveal, of course, is that local paramedic Roy Burns was responsible for the carnage of A New Chapter. It would be explained how Roy was the father of the one and the same Joey from the opening act, but seriously, surely anyone paying early attention will have picked up on that?

Random background character with a crazy-eyed fade-to-black scene when picking up Joey's body? That was a huge giveaway!
