10 Big MCU Revelations That Didn’t Come From The Movies

8. Red Skull Can Leave Vormir

Red Skull's return was one of Infinity War's nicest surprises, with the character returning to the big-screen after an unexplained seven-year absence. Turns out he didn't actually die in Captain America: The First Avenger; he was transported to the planet Vormir, where he eventually became the keeper of the Soul Stone.

Since he's only really in Infinity War to service the Soul Stone part of the plot, it was never made clear if there were any rules imposed upon him: will he age and die? Why did the Tesseract send him to Vormir? Can he ever leave Vormir? While we don't yet know if more light will be shed on the Red Skull subject (he may pop up in Endgame, for instance), we do have an answer to that last question, direct from the Russo Brothers themselves.

While participating in a Twitter Q&A during an Infinity War viewing party, a fan asked the directors whether or not Red Skull could depart Vormir now that Thanos has the Soul Stone - and they said that yes, he could.

How interesting.

Obviously, this opens the door for another Red Skull appearance in a future film, and the Russos' tease about him collecting an Infinity Stone is especially tantalising.
