10 Big-Name Actors Who Were Wasted In Major Blockbusters

2. John Boyega in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy

When Disney purchased Star Wars and set out to make a new set of films, the excitement and anticipation was, at least at the time, through the roof.

In the first official trailer, relatively unknown actor John Boyega was the first face to pop up when the sequel trilogy started making waves. Clad in stormtrooper armour, many were curious to see what kind of journey this character would go on following the fall of the empire. While The Force Awakens laid the groundwork for where his character could have gone, the following two films did next to nothing in return.

Whether it was wasting time on an unneeded side quest in The Last Jedi or merely refusing to acknowledge his presence in The Rise of Skywalker, this is a case where a performer is wasted across a whole series as opposed to a single film. In a sequel trilogy with no roadmap and no plan, Finn goes down as the biggest wasted opportunity in this new trilogy.

He started off with great potential as a rogue stormtrooper, only to have nothing done with his character. He was only along for the ride and now the sequel trilogy has finished, the role is likely to be tossed aside
