10 Big Questions From The Fantastic Four Trailer

10. How Much Of The Pre-Origin Has Been Re-Imagined?

Knowing that comic book movies have a fascination with presenting main characters as children, it's no shock to see Reed Richards at school age Is that Ben Grimm alongside him? The Ultimates arc, which is said to be the biggest influence on the film, reimagined Grimm and Reed's relationship, making them not college friends but grade school ones - that would seem to fit in with the image of the pair together at a younger age. Though it is perhaps a little imperceptible without knowledge of the comics, you get the sense that they're going to go with Grimm as the less intelligent version of the Ultimates rather than earlier comics. As indication, each of the other three members are introduced doing something mentally challenging - inventing things as a child, using a complex computer system and tuning a car engine - while Ben is introduced holding a baseball bat. Clobbering time, indeed.
