Sandra Bullock has been one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood for two decades now, but her leading role in Alfonso Cuaron's jaw-dropping sci-fi makes her the only female presence amongst the ten biggest paychecks in Hollywood history. As the sole character onscreen for the majority of the running time, Bullock carries the movie and her intensely dedicated turn landed an Academy Award nomination, not to mention a hefty amount of cash. As well as her usual $20m salary, Bullock's contract also entitled her to 15% of the movie's first-dollar gross, which is essentially a share of any profits that distributor Warner Bros. made from the project, as well as a percentage of the movie's other revenue streams including home video sales and TV syndication. With Gravity earning $716.m at the box office and almost $50m on domestic home video, the actress is estimated to have earned at least $77m from the movie so far.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
