10 Biggest Behind-The-Scenes Fights From The Making Of Famous Movies

7. Tom Cruise Vs. Rob Lowe (The Outsiders)

You might remember The Outsiders as the coming-of-age film based on the book that featured just about every young soon-to-be star in Hollywood. Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, C. Thomas Howell, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, Ralph Macchio, and Diane Lane are all there, fresh faced and ready to conquer the world. You might also remember that one of the pivotal scenes involves a rumble between the Greasers and the Socs, where just about everyone got punched in the face at some point. But apparently, someone punched someone he wasn't supposed to and things, as they say, escalated quickly. According to Lowe, he accidentally socked Mr. Cruise in the face at some point, and the young Scientologist-to-be did not take it too well.
"Tom is such a competitive lunatic - which is what I love about him - but the next thing you know he's ready to kill me!"
Apparently, Tom had been up for Rob's slightly larger role as Sodapop Curtis, and Lowe believes this created extra tension between the two actors. To be fair, Cruise did need to get some dental work done the next day. So it was a pretty significant punch to the face.
