1. Homesick Zod Decides To Turn Earth Into A New Krypton - Man of Steel
We've all been homesick at one time or another, but that doesn't really excuse General Zod's (Michael Shannon) quest to take over Earth and reshape it to his will with a terraforming device, essentially building a new Krypton and wiping humanity of the face off the planet. The film opens with Zod being sent to the Phantom Zone for murdering Jor-El (Russell Crowe), though when Krypton is destroyed, he and his cohorts are freed, leaving them as intergalactic vagabonds, drifters without a home. Tragic and extremely traumatic though that no doubt is, is it really reason enough to attempt to enslave and destroy a nation of 7 billion people? But then again, should we expect logic and clear thought from the guy who tried to stage a military coup on a planet just moments away from obliteration? Are there any other ludicrous overreactions we missed? Let us know in the comments below.
