9. Katie Suspects Dave Is Cheating On Her With Mindy, Dumps Him - Kick-Ass 2
Kick-Ass 2 was hardly a great movie, and one of the most disappointing things for me is the minimal presence of Dave's (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) smoking hot girlfriend Katie (Lyndsy Fonseca), who appears for just one scene in the entire movie. Furthermore, it's a blatant, effortless writing-out of her character, as she comes to believe that Dave is cheating on her with Mindy aka Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz), and promptly dumps him, before storming off (and out of the movie). This one hits a really sour note because it's totally out of step with what we knew of the character in the first movie, and is such a blatant overreaction that one almost assumes it's supposed to be satirical (even though it clearly isn't). Writer-director Jeff Wadlow clearly knew he had to find a way to write Katie out (for his mangled take on the comic, at least), yet opted for the most jarring and unconvincing overreaction possible. Given that she's probably not returning for a third film, why didn't they just have The Mother F***er kill her off?
