10 Biggest Continuity Errors In Star Trek

5. Burnham Has A Death Wish - What's Past Is Prologue

Commander Michael Burnham had quite a rocky first season in Star Trek: Discovery. She attempts to instigate a mutiny aboard the USS Shenzhou, before being quickly tossed in the brig. She escapes, helping her captain - until they beam across to a Klingon ship, with Georgiou dying in combat with T'Kuvma. Burnham is hauled up on charges and booted from Starfleet.

One would assume this would have been a learning curve so that when she is drafted back into service by Gabriel Lorca, she would be slightly more attentive to what's going on around her. This does not extend to weapon etiquette, apparently.

In What's Past Is Prologue, Burnham and Lorca go head to head in combat. Burnham seems to get the upper hand, pulling her phaser on him. However, he is in no danger - she's holding it backward, with the muzzle pointed at herself. This continuity issue was apparently caught in the edit, with a small clicking sound added to the scene to signify Burnham flipping the phaser around and holding it the right way, as she is shown doing a moment later.
