10 Biggest Downgrades In MCU History

1. Vision

Professor Hulk
Marvel Comics

In another example of Marvel Studios perhaps getting a little too carried away with a character early on, the MCU's Vision came with some lofty expectations after being forged from a combination of vibranium, Ultron tinkering, and the power of the Mind Stone.

Sadly, though, on the back of lifting Mjolnir and proving to be the game-changer in the battle against Tony Stark's murder bot, Paul Bettany's Vis again found himself the victim of some serious de-powering in his later appearances. Being merely shuffled into the super-pack in the Civil War between Stark and Steve Rogers, and easily nullified en-route to becoming a bit of a liability in Infinity War, a still rather engrossing character just never really rediscovered his super-form post-Age of Ultron.

Had Marvel Studios really wanted to embrace the level of brilliance seen in the synthezoid comic book fans had come to know, perhaps we would've witnessed Vision's penchant for creating holograms, ability to replicate other voices, solar radiation absorption capabilities, or even his under-utilised hand-to-hand skills taught to him by none other than Captain America himself.

Yet, whatever way you slice, whether judged solely on his MCU exploits or against his previous showings as part of the wider Marvel world, this cinematic Vision was never allowed to really broaden his horizons.
