10 Biggest Flaws Of The 10 Highest-Grossing Movies Of 2014

10. It's The First Half Of An Unnecessary Split - The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1

Box Office Gross: $611,398,000 Whilst truly dedicated fans of The Hunger Games are probably over the moon at the thought of there being another - albeit inessential - movie in this now padded-out franchise, for the rest of humanity Mockingjay: Part 1 felt akin to a slap in the face: an uneven, poorly paced slice of Hollywood cynicism that moved with all the gusto of a snail on a Sunday. In short, it felt entirely like a blockbuster biding its time. Not that there weren't things to like about the movie: for what it's worth, every single member of the cast delivers fine performances, especially Julianne Moore and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, whilst the general theme of the movie - war as propaganda - felt contemporary and clever. But it's hard not to look at Mockingjay - Part 1 for what it really is: a marketing ploy packaged as a necessity. And necessary it ain't.
