10 Biggest Guilty Pleasure Superhero Movies
6. The Joel Schumacher Batman Movies
Burton's previous DC outings were game changers - the first truly dark and gritty takes on the superhero genre.
Then Hollywood decided the Caped Crusader's next outing should be lighter and Joel Schumacher interpreted that literally. Nearly every scene in Batman Forever and Batman and Robin is saturated with colour and lit up with neon lights making every scene look like a rave party. There is really is nothing quite like it, especially compared to the drab and tedious Batman Vs Superman or Justice League.
Neither film is going to win any awards for anything but they are a lot of fun - a return to the OTT campiness and manic sense of adventure of the sixties iteration. A large part of that is thanks to the A-list actors, especially Jim Carrey at the height of his fame, stealing the show with hammy over acting. All the villains manage to channel the spirits of those actors seen in the sixties TV show: Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin.
