10 Biggest Lies Comic Book Movie Fans Tell Themselves
1. The Avengers A-List Will Sustain Itself
When Downey Jr. leaves the MCU, it'll be like when Van Halen lost David Lee-Roth; sure Marvel will cling to their former glory but this will be a death blow to the MCU and everything made post Downey Jr. (let's call it PD from now on) will be a downward spiral of diminishing box office figures until eventually, Marvel will either reboot the whole thing from the beginning or just cut their losses and put the whole thing to bed.
And what's more, Iron Man flying the coop will be the first domino; Chris Evans will be next, then Hemsworth, then Jeremy Renner (but actually, who cares about him anyway) and we'll be left with the dregs of the Avengers barrel. This isn't a what if, this is happening as we speak and will continue to happen until there's no one left.
If you think any of these now iconic castings could be reimagined without losing a huge chunk of box office revenue - and ultimately making the whole endeavour pointless - then you're lying only to yourself.
And that'll be how the story ends. Kaput. Bye-bye. No more MCU and eventually, no more DCEU. And then it'll be back to the comics for you. So best get reading, bub.
