1. Marketing
Marvel went about marketing The Avengers in a very smart way, keeping back footage of the Hulk vs. Thor fight and many of the other surprising moments such as the identity of the Chitauri aliens. However, it feels like that's the only movie of theirs that they haven't shown too much off of before release, something which many studios are guilty of. For a studio that gets so much right, it's baffling how uninspired the posters for Marvel's movies tend to be. With Iron Man 3 earning over $1 billion and even Guardians Of The Galaxy topping $700 million, it could be argued that the quality of a poster isn't going to make that much of a difference to their success. But it's no excuse for laziness. Even for a movie as big as The Avengers, the most hardcore of comic book fans would be ashamed to put the main poster for that release up on their wall. You can't blame Marvel for being confident, but with all the money they're making, it would be nice to think that we'll see things improve moving forwards. Their first test? Avengers: Age Of Ultron... What do you think are the biggest mistakes Marvel has made? Share them in the comments below.
