10 Biggest MCU Surprises We Didn't See Coming

By far, the most groundbreaking moment in all of MCU history was the reveal of the one and only... noobmaster69.

noobmaster69 was a legendary warrior in the online game of Fortnite. He was seen taunting and facing off with the mighty Thor in Avengers: Endgame. Albeit, through a video game, though still impressive. Thor even threatens to fly over to noobmaster69's house and do some really unsavory things to him.

The reveal of noobmaster69's identity came during an Xbox Series X/Marvel tie-in commercial that featured Anthony Mackie as Falcon. In the commercial we see Aaron, a character played by D.C. Pierson, who previously appeared in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as an Apple Store employee. Aaron, who now apparently works for Xbox or some retail video game store, shows Sam Wilson the wonders of the Xbox before, almost at random, stating that his gamertag is noobmaster69.

One of the great things about the MCU is the fact that minor characters like Aaron can have so much thought put into them that even an Xbox tie-in commercial can make the world seem more alive and real. Aaron will forever be remembered as one of the god of thunder's most bitter Fortnite rivals and a heck of a salesman, though his reveal being in a non-canon commercial tragically excludes him from this list proper.
