10 Biggest Mistakes Made By MCU Heroes
1. Almost Everything Star-Lord Did In Infinity War
With Thanos threatening to extinguish half of all life, the universe needed defenders that were truly selfless, level-headed and heroic. Unfortunately, it got Star-Lord, too.
Despite being aware that there was only a one in 14,000,605 chance of victory, Peter Quill lost control when he learned of Gamora's death and started beating Thanos, breaking Mantis' hold on the Titan in the process. Had he kept himself under control for a few more seconds, Iron Man and Spider-Man would have been able to remove the Infinity Gauntlet.
Although Star-Lord's judgement was undeniably affected by the loss of Gamora, it's hard to be very sympathetic, given the shockingly crass way that he'd belittled Thor's trauma earlier. Indeed, he seemed to do his utmost to be a liability throughout Infinity War, whether through his inability to lead his team on Knowhere or his pathetic, insecure efforts to assert his superiority on Titan.
In stark contrast to Thor at Wakanda, Star-Lord was quite literally begged not to lose control by Tony, and he knew that his actions would have dreadful consequences. Instead, he gave into his rage and impatience, and the universe paid a terrible price. Star-Lord will have an awful lot of work to do in future appearances to become a true hero once again after such a titanic failure.
