8. CBS Looking To Adapt Stephen King's The Things They Left Behind

Stephen King CBS has found a lot of success with their adaptation of Stephen King's Under the Dome, and are looking to double down and take another shot at one of the prolific author's works. The network is looking into adapting The Things They Left Behind, which was published as part of King's Transgressions: Volume Two collection. The original tale follows a 9/11 survivor plagued by guilt. One day, objects that once belonged to his deceased co-workers begin appearing at his house. Unable to get rid of them, he enlists the help of a neighbor to return them to the families of the dead. CBS's take on the story will involve the same basic premise. According to TV Line, the show will be a "supernatural procedural drama about an unlikely pair or investigators carrying out the unfinished business of the dead." The series has a pilot commitment, meaning it's all but guaranteed that CBS will pick it up.
