9. Harry Ellis - Die Hard
Harry Ellis is a Nakatomi employee in Die Hard, a sleazy businessman who evidently thinks way too highly of himself, dabbling in habitual cocaine use but most crucially putting the moves on John McClane's (Bruce Willis) wife, Holly. High on drugs, Ellis attempts to negotiate with Hans Gruber and his band of terrorists once they take over the building, only to find himself up s*** creek without a paddle. His smarmy demeanour appears to put him in good stead with Gruber to begin with, as he claims that he has known McClane for years (he hasn't), and encourages John to hand himself over so the situation can be resolved quickly. McClane is well aware that handing himself over will result in them both being killed, and so goes silent, causing Gruber to lose his patience and shoot Ellis through the head. However, Ellis was such a creepy slimeball that the audience response is typically glee at his demise; what a total douche.
