10 Biggest Movie Douchebags From The 80s

4. Ed Rooney - Ferris Bueller's Day Off

I've heard quite a few people say that they have come to realise as they grew up that, really, Edward R. Rooney, the Dean of Students at Ferris Bueller's (Matthew Broderick) school, was not a bad guy after all, just an authority figure trying to lead Bueller down the straight and narrow path. Be that as it may, Rooney's dogged determination to mould Ferris into an obeyer of authority makes him out to be one of the most detestable squares in all of high school movie history, as he attempts to prove that Ferris is a truant. This goes to the extent of visiting Ferris' home, being mistaken for an intruder, and eventually allowing Ferris' sister to blackmail Rooney into leaving Ferris alone if she doesn't report him to the police. Alright, so Rooney might get a more raw deal than most of these guys, but still, he just needs to lighten up; you can't save them all!
