6. Marvel Moving Forward With The Inhumans

After the success of their new space opera, Guardians of the Galaxy, it looks like Marvel Studios is ready to take more cosmic risks, and are moving forward with a film focusing on The Inhumans. The project has been rumored for some time now (with Vin Diesel heavily teasing a role), but now the studio has announced that they've got a script ready and will begin the search for a director. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1975, the Inhumans are an advanced race of humans genetically created by the Kree alien race millions of years ago. The Kree abandoned their experiment after a prophecy foretold that the Inhumans would take down the Kree Supreme Intelligence. The Inhumans then managed to live and thrive in obscurity, and develop advanced technology in the city of Attilan. The Inhumans are led by their king, Black Bolt, and his royal family: Medusa, Gorgon, Triton, Maximus the Mad, and a giant teleporting bulldog named Lockjaw. There's definitely potential for The Inhumans to find similar success that Guardians is currently enjoying, and serve as a substitute for the X-Men and mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now they just need to find a director with a James Gunn-like vision to bring the strange characters to life.
