5. Michael Bay Doesn't Want To Direct Transformers 5

Michael Bay Explosion Michael Bay threatened to leave the Transformers alone after his third film in the franchise, Dark of the Moon, but decided that he liked money, and returned to direct the latest installment, Age of Extinction. Now, it looks like he may be seriously considering passing the torch to someone else. In an interview with USA Today, Bay stated that he "believes he will pass the baton for future Transformers movies to a new director while he turns his focus elsewhere." He elaborated by saying: "There's a kind of new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles." One such direction is a passion project of his, a documentary about elephant poaching. Perhaps he's finally had enough of summer blockbusters (though dumptrucks full of money don't hurt) and is ready to hand the reigns of the franchise to one of his various proteges at his production company, Platinum Dunes.
