4. Warner Bros. Hires Two Writers For Aquaman Solo Film

Warner Brothers have announced release dates for nine untitled DC Comics films that will arrive from 2016 to 2020 after Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. We don't know what all those films will officially be, but now know that an Aquaman solo film will be one of them! The studio is reportedly taking an aggressive approach in getting an Aquaman film made, and have hired two writers to pen two competing scripts for the film. Once the scripts are done, they'll decide which direction is best and go from there. The two scriptwriters in question are familiar faces at Warner Brothers. First there's Will Beall, who penned Gangster Squad and a Justice League draft that the studio eventually discarded; and Kurt Johnstad, who wrote 300, 300: Rise of an Empire, and Act of Valor. At this point in time we have no idea when the scripts are expected to be completed or when WB wants Aquaman to hit theaters. However, it's exciting to hear that the studio is looking into green-lighting films that don't center around Batman and Superman and are committed to finding films to fill those nine slots.
