9. Gotham TV Series Casting 10-Year Old Bruce Wayne
Though some fans may argue that DC has been a bit slow when developing a cinematic universe of their own, they have been actively working on bringing new content to the small screen. Over the last few months, we've received word about several new shows in the works including The Flash, Hourman, and iZombie on the CW, Constantine at NBC, and Gotham on FOX. So far, audiences seem impressed with The Flash's debut on Arrow, and the character will receive a pilot next year in hopes of becoming a spinoff series of its own. Not much else has happened in terms of Hourman, iZombie, or Constantine, but this week we got our first bit of news on the Gotham TV series. The show will focus on a young Jim Gordon, in a pre-Batman Gotham City. The series will act as an origin of sorts for Gordon, who will be a young officer in the series. According to
TV Show Auditions, the show has been in development for a year and will begin shooting next March. The show will center "on Gotham City PD rookie detective Jim Gordon who investigates the double murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne." The casting call calls for a 10-year old Bruce Wayne, who will be a series regular. This opens a well of possibilities for the show, and finally gives us our first glimpse at what exactly the show will entail and when exactly it will take place. There's no word yet on what other characters may appear, or if the show will take place in the same TV universe as Arrow and Flash, or in the burgeoning DC cinematic universe; though chances are it will stand on its own.
