4. The LEGO Movie 2 Assembling In 2017

Everything is awesome, right LEGO fans? The big screen debut of the popular interlocking bricks was met with astounding critical acclaim, and has grossed over $200 million in just two weeks. In other words, the experiment has proven to be a success and a sequel is on the way. Warner Bros. greenlit a sequel before the first film even hit theaters, so it comes as no shock that one's been officially put into motion. WB has hired Jared Stern (Wreck-It-Ralph) and Michelle Morgan (Girl Most Likely) to pen the sequel, which just got an official release date of May 26, 2017. Right now the directors of the first film, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, are only on board to produce (though you can bet that WB is willing to give them a dump truck full of money to return for a second go-around), so we'll just have to wait and see who the studio puts at the helm. Whoever it is, they have a pretty high bar to meet, quality-wise and box-office-wise.
