3. Fox's Fantastic Four Lineup Finally Revealed

It's hard to tell what's exactly going on with 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four reboot, because the thing's been in the works for a while now and has gone through several major changes. It seems we get very little confirmation about the movie, but this week things took a step in the right direction as the titular heroes were finally given actors to portray them. Variety reported Thursday that Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell have been cast in the film, as Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch, and The Thing, respectively. If you're thinking that this isn't your typical cast for this kind of thing, you're absolutely right. The studio is moving in a new direction with the property, featuring a much younger version of the characters and using the Ultimate Fantastic Four comics as inspiration. Needless to say, fan reactions to the casting have been mixed. There is of course the "controversy" of casting Michael B. Jordan as the Human Torch, though he's pretty much perfect for the part. Miles Teller is a strange choice for Reed Richards, and Jamie Bell is the out-of-left-field casting decision that has fans scratching their heads. He's a bit scrawny to be the rough rock monster we know as The Thing, even if he'll be given his makeover via motion-capture. With the four leads now set, the film should start picking up steam pretty quickly, as it needs to try and meet that June 19, 2015 release date before the rights revert back to Marvel Studios.
