2. Paul Bettany To Play The Vision In Avengers: Age Of Ultron

Thevision On the other side of the Marvel equation, we have another casting announcement for Avengers: Age of Ultron, as the studio announced Thursday that Paul Bettany will play The Vision in the hotly anticipated Avengers sequel. Bettany, of course, is no stranger to the MCU, voicing Tony Stark's trusty AI sidekick JARVIS in the Iron Man trilogy and in The Avengers. So what does this mean for The Vision? When it was first announced that Ultron was the villain of the sequel, many speculated that Marvel would change the character's origin to be JARVIS gone bad. In the comics, Ultron is created by Ant-Man (Hank Pym), and turns against humanity. Ultron builds his own android, known as The Vision, to help destroy the Avengers, but the Vision rebels against Ultron and becomes a superhero. We know that Ant-Man will be absent in Age of Ultron, so Ultron's origins will likely be changed, and the casting of Bettany as The Vision seems to confirm that the two will somehow arise of Tony Stark's technology rather than Pym's. In any case, his casting is exciting because of the possibilities it holds for the franchise; fans have been hoping the character would make his big screen debut ever since the sequel was announced. Now we just have to anxiously wait and see what sort of role he'll have until the film debuts in 2015.
