Our last bit of news came as a tremendous shock, as Academy Award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his apartment on Sunday from a heroin overdose. The actor was 46 years old, and had been struggling with addiction his entire life. Hoffman leaves behind an incredible legacy, as he was one of the greatest and most engaging actors of a generation and will truly be missed. He's been nominated for four Academy Awards, for Capote (which he won), Charlie Wilson's War, Doubt, and The Master; and had numerous iconic roles throughout his career in films like Boogie Nights, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, and The Big Lebowski. He was an electrifying presence on screen, fully embodying his characters and stealing the show every second he was on screen. Our condolences go out to his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. Several of our writers have paid tribute to Hoffman through articles on the site, which I highly recommend you check out here: 10 Awesome Philip Seymour Hoffman Performances10 Most Memorable ScenesHis 10 Best Roles10 Philip Seymour Hoffman Performances That Prove His Genius That's it for this week's news wrap-up, what did you think of the stories?
