10 Biggest Movie And TV News This Week (Jan 25)
Tarantino gets upset, Jackman becomes Blackbeard, Kevin Smith announces new horror series and more.
Another week, another plethora of news stories to keep our minds occupied. There's nothing quite as shocking as last week's announcement that WB was delaying Batman Vs. Superman 10 months, but nevertheless, we've got some exciting bits of information for this week's WhatCulture news brief. We've got a few casting announcements for films like Through The Looking Glass, Night At The Museum 3 (yep, that's happening), and Joe Wright's Peter Pan; exciting news about Agents of SHIELD (which, let's face it, can use all of the exciting news it can get), and word of a Godzilla tie-in comic. We also know that Bill Cosby will be heading back to NBC after three decades, and that Kevin Smith will be making more movies after what felt like three decades. And, of course, news about that Tarantino movie that just got shelved. All of this and more in this week's news brief! Let's get right into it, shall we? Honourable Mentions:

"The events of Captain America will definitely affect the world of Avengers 2. But at the end of the day, I have to make my movie assuming that people will only have seen the first one, or possibly not even seen the first one. I can't assume that everybody went to see Thor , Captain America, and Iron Man 3 in-between. I have to go from one movie to the next and be true to what's happened , but not be slavish to it. [...] The model I'm always trying to build from, or my guiding star, is The Godfather: Part II where a ton has happened in-between and it's a very different movie , but you don't need any information. It's there in the film about what's happened since, what's different, and why is this a different film; why is it a different kind of structure, and why is it darker. It's all there, you're in the vernacular of the first movie and you're just ready to pick up in this new place, and hopefully that's what will happen with my movie. Obviously I'm talking about one of the greatest films ever made (The Godfather: Part II)... I hope mine will be good, but that is my guiding star." (via CBM)
