5. Kevin Smith Co-Directing Holiday Horror Anthology

Kevin Smith Remember the Kevin Smith that would actually make movies? I miss that guy. Now we get the Kevin Smith who gets high all the time and talks about the movies he wants to make. Clerks 3 has been in the works for a while (and supposedly has a finished script, which Smith calls "the funniest thing I've ever written"). He's first making a horror film called Tusk (which will hopefully hit later this year) and just announced his plans for a musical called Helena Handbag. I guess he's not retiring after all? His latest idea is called Comes the Krampus, and will be an anthology-style, holiday-set horror film. Smith himself talked about the project earlier this week on his blog:
It took us less than a month, but Andy and I have finished the screenplay for a flick we're calling COMES THE KRAMPUS! It's 99 pulse-pounding pages of what's essentially SModCo's CREEPSHOW, with four terrifying tales stitched together by a freaky framing device. It was a blast to write and totally new to me, as I never actually wrote a screenplay WITH someone else before.
He plans to focus on Comes the Krampus right after Clerks 3. The project definitely sounds interesting, and it's great to see him starting to make movies again.
