10 Biggest Movie And TV News This Week (July 19)

1. Marvel Announces 5 More Release Dates

Marvel Infinity No matter how you feel about the overall quality of the Marvel Studios film or their ever-expanding cinematic universe, one thing absolutely can't be denied: They make a ton of films, and show no signs of stopping. Next month's Guardians of the Galaxy is their tenth theatrical release, and according to their slate of upcoming projects, they have ten more coming down the pipeline. Late Friday night Marvel released five new release dates for unannounced films, which stretches all the way to 2019 and points to three films hitting theaters in 2017 alone. Here's their official statement:
While we can€™t tell you just what they are yet, you can look forward to new films hitting theaters July 28 and November 3, 2017; July 6 and November 2, 2018; and May 3, 2019.
That means their upcoming slate goes as follows:
May 1, 2015 - Avengers: Age of UltronJuly 17, 2015 - Ant-ManMay 6, 2016 - Captain America 3July 8, 2016 - Doctor Strange?May 5, 2017 - UnannouncedJuly 28, 2017 - UnannouncedNovember 3, 2017 - UnannouncedJuly 6, 2018 - UnannouncedNovember 2, 2018 - UnannouncedMay 3, 2019 - Unannounced
As you can see, most of those dates are populated by unannounced projects. Marvel may plan ahead, but they do like to keep fans guessing! Of their confirmed upcoming projects, we know that Captain America 3, Thor 3, Doctor Strange, and Avengers 3 are in the pipeline; while films like Black Panther, Ms. Marvel, The Inhumans, and another Hulk film have been talked about for quite some time now. Then of course, there's the chance that something like Iron Man 4, or even a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy or Ant-Man, could come about at some point. Our best guess is that Avengers 3 won't arrive until spring 2019, meaning the studio has a lot of room to play around with new projects and additional sequels before bringing the gang back together for a third Avengers outing. We'll likely be hearing more concrete details next week when the studio takes the stage in Hall H at Comic-Con. Tell us, what do you think of this week's news? Are you excited about Marvel's upcoming slate of unannounced films, or are you starting to feel Marvel fatigue? How about films like Power Rangers, Universal Monsters, and Space Invaders? There was plenty to talk about this week, so head on down to the comment section and let us know your thoughts, and be sure to follow me on Twitter to continue the conversation and stay in touch with more movie news stories as they develop throughout the week.
