10 Biggest Movie And TV News This Week (July 19)

Don't leave home without getting your weekly fix of Hollywood gossip!

Greetings and salutations everyone! Welcome to the best movie news wrap-up on the web, the WhatCulture.com News Brief! For those of you just joining us, we're here to dissect the biggest movie and television developments that invaded our RSS feeds this week, and what a week it was! On the superhero front we've got updates for Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Flash, Daredevil, and the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe (which gets bigger and bigger each week!) We've also got updates on the Power Rangers reboot, as well as the current state of the Spider-Man franchise (I don't know about you, but my Spidey sense is really tingling with that one). On the other side of the spectrum we've got updates about a Beatles documentary from Ron Howard, a movie about a beloved 1980s arcade game (not, it's not Ms. Pac-Man, sorry), and plans for a "shared universe" populated by the classic Universal Monsters. But, before we jump into the exciting possibilities of Frankenstein fighting the Wolfman, let's take a look at the stories that didn't quite make the main list:

Honourable Mentions

New Images And Details For Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Ultron and Vision's origins, plus a ton of new pics! Check them out here. Howard the Duck is in Guardians of the Galaxy. Seriously! Mark Romanek to direct The Shining prequel, The Overlook Hotel. His past work includes films like Never Let Me Go and One Hour Photo, making him the perfect choice for a creepfest like this. Now let's just hope it's as good as the original. (Spoiler alert: It probably won't be). Via: VarietyGuillermo del Toro doesn't think Hellboy 3 is going to happen. Damn. The Uncharted movie to begin production in "Early 2015." I'll believe it when I see it... Via: Zap2ItF. Javier Gutierrez to direct The Ring 3. No one watches VHS tapes anymore... so they're going to have to find a way to update this one. UltraViolet is a pretty terrible way to watch movies, that would work! Via: DeadlineBen Whishaw replaces Colin Firth as the voice of Paddington. Firth dropped out because he felt he was too old for the role, and that his voice "didn't fit" the beloved bear. Whishaw, who's starred in such films as Skyfall and Cloud Atlas (and is 20 years younger than Firth) should fit the bill quite well. Via: The Daily Mail. And now, onto the main event! Drum roll please...
