10. Jupiter Ascending Delayed Until February 2015

Well, this isn't a very good sign. Jupiter Ascending, the latest science-fiction blockbuster from The Matrix directors Andy and Lana Wachowski has been delayed, and will now arrive on February 6th, 2015. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, as this kind of thing happens all the time. However, the fact that the movie was supposed to arrive on July 18th, just five weeks away, is a bit of a red flag. According to Warner Bros.' domestic distribution chief Dan Fellman, the film is being delayed because of the amount of post-production visual effects that still need to be rendered, which reportedly consists of over 2,000 effects shots.
€œWith the July release date, they were just not going to make it on time. A lot of the issue for us was getting it ready for the international release, since the foreign territories need additional time.€
While that may certainly be the case, it's also possible that Warner Bros. simply wasn't happy with the film, and therefore didn't have the confidence to release it in the summer. Pushing the film from July to February is basically a death sentence. It is worth noting though that The LEGO Movie came out in February and fared just fine, so there's a chance Jupiter Ascending could strike a chord with audiences. If it's good, that is.
