Marvel may be in trouble when it comes to finding a director for Ant-Man, they are having no problems with moving Doctor Strange right along. Back in March we received a shortlist of directors who could bring the Sorcerer Supreme to life, and now have official confirmation that one man on that list, Sinister director Scott Derrickson, has been chosen to do it. Derrickson himself broke the news via Twitter on Tuesday: https://twitter.com/scottderrickson/statuses/473948123702628354 He's certainly an interesting choice for the gig, and an inspired one. His work in the horror genre will provide him with some great sensibilities for a project like this, though we have yet to see how dark and weird Disney and Marvel are willing to go. If they had such a problem with Wright's take on Ant-Man, I wonder what reservations they have against someone like Stephen Strange. In any case, this is a film that many, including Marvel president Kevin Feige, have been waiting a long time to see. Interestingly, the studio announced the director before officially confirming that the movie was even happening... though it appears the cat is finally out of the bag. Now, all that's left to do is cast him. Recent rumors point towards people like Madds Mikkelsen, Johnny Depp, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Tom Hardy.
