7. What's The Deal With Dory's Lost Family? - Finding Dory

Because it is the job of a sequel to sort of replicate the premise of the first movie, Finding Nemo becomes Finding Dory for the follow-up to the acclaimed animated classic. Going by the recent teaser trailer, then, it turns out that forgettable fish Dory was once separated from her family - she just, uh, forgot that she was. Cue a series of dreams in which she recalls said family, though, and you've suddenly got a plot in which Dory is lost in the ocean and Nemo and Marlin are forced to track her down before she's lost forever. Dory having a family was mentioned briefly in the original, of course, but Finding Dory remains a rather curious artefact - especially since the teaser was so very, very vague (and a tad underwhelming, if you want the truth). What happened to Dory's family, then? How did she end up being separated from them? Where are they now? Questions that fans Pixar fans will have to wait until next year to find out the answers to - 'til then, it's anyone's guess!
