10 Biggest Reveals From The Marvel Phase 2 Box-Set

2. The Deleted Scenes Reveal More Character Info

Deleted scenes are often the holy grail of bonus features, giving an insight into excised plots and character beats that add more layers to a story. As the Marvel movies are giant behemoths with a wealth of characters, there€™s bound to be lots of stuff that doesn€™t make it in. Phase Two was no different, with the box-set containing a wealth of great deleted and extended footage that got taken out. Loki fans will be happy with a scene removed from The Dark World, where he imagines himself being coroneted the King of Asgard. His fantasy goes one step further when he wields Thor€™s hammer, before his mother snaps him out of his daydream and he€™s back in his cell. Elsewhere there€™s an extended interview with a young Peggy Carter from The Winter Soldier; she talks about what a good man Steve Rogers was and cries when she remembers him. It€™s a nice emotional moment, but with old Peggy crying in the very next scene the cut makes sense. In Guardians there€™s a ,moment where Drax explains his tattoos tell the story of his life, and Age Of Ultron shows why Captain America isn€™t wearing a helmet in the final battle. Most of the deletions make sense pacing wise, but on their own they add a little more depth to the movies.
