10. Chris Rock Disses Jada Pinkett-Smith
Chris Rock's blistering opening monologue was cringe-worthy and fist-pumpingly awesome by equal amounts, somehow. The comedian obviously had a lot to say, considering the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, and so actually spent his entire ten-minute speech on it. Within it, he made reference to Jada Pinkett-Smith's decision to boycott the awards... which Rock found amusing. "Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihannas panties... I wasnt invited!" Fairly shocking in that it kind of came out of nowhere to attack her like that, whilst also undermining the entire point of her boycott by turning it into a punchline. I wonder how Will is going to feel about it?
