10 Biggest Shocks From The Oscars 2016

5. A Really Bad Bond Theme Wins Best Song

Sorry, Sam Smith, but you're cruising on brand recognition alone. When Adele won the same gong for Skyfall a few years back, it was insanely well-deserved. Smith's song on the other hand is boring and beige and doesn't even have the word 'Spectre' in it. A real shocker when you consider the fact that Lady Gaga's emotional "Till It Happens To You", which is a great song with an important message, got shut out because of it. What's worse is Sam Smith's failure to do his research, saying in his acceptance speech that he might be the first openly-gay man to win an Oscar - even though Dustin Lance Black scored that honour for his Original Screenplay award (for Gus Van Sant's Milk) back in 2009. He didn't even give a shoutout to fellow LGBT nominee ANOHNI. Poor form, Sam.
