10 Biggest Shocks From The Oscars 2016

4. That Horrendously Racist Gag About Asians

For no reason whatsoever - other than to be unseasonably racist, apparently - Chris Rock at one point starts commenting on the fact that the real-life accounting firm PWC are responsible for tallying the results, and that they sent their three best-and-brightest employees down to the ceremony to deliver said results. Out on stage come three Asian children, wearing suits and carrying briefcases. It's... a fairly horrific joke, and lands with a dull thud. It didn't make much sense that an Academy Awards so heavily under fire for not sufficiently honouring African American filmmakers would decide to so aggressively pursue a joke about Asian children being good at math. I wonder how PWC felt about it? Oh yeah, the segment saw Rock suggest that Asian children also being good for slave labour, as he went on to say that the kids also made the smart phones of everyone in the room. The worst part is that the kids are completely oblivious as to why they've been trot out on stage. Do you think their parents are proud of them?
